tires on 17x8.5 rims

I can't seem to figure this out.

If i had, say 17x8.5 c6 rims. You think a 245/40/17 tire is good? i dont know if i should go wider or thinner or what :[ /help me out

The tire manufacturer specs state the correct rim width. Any specific opinions stated here are worthless.

well, i found out what i need, 265/45/17. No one makes'em though. Know where to find'em?

Try 265/40/17.

i have the same size rims, but they are c5 rims. and i have 245/45/17 tires.

you dont think that would look funny with 275/35/18 on 18x9.5 rims in the rear would u?

it might a little bit,stick with 17's in the back too,and if you had 18 on the back,youll need a bit wider of a tire,and sometimes it bad cuz you get too much traction off the line..if you race

well its too late, i dun spent the money for 17x8.5 +56mm and 18x9.5 +58mm rims.

still trying to decide what looks like it matches and stuff :[

definitly 275/35/18 in the back but i'm torn between 245-255-265/40-45/17 front i have no clue :[

actually...lol,i was looking at rims for my car..i wanted to get C5's...17x9 on the back and the front 17x7 or 8....but it would hafta be 17x9's all around...which i think on the front those are kinda wide,so i might step it down to a 16 on the front,lol
