Yes they will, I noticed a difference between a 245s and 235s on the different sets of wheels.
Big difference between my 275s and 17s and my any tires on 16s...-Eric
2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed T-top converted
14.467@95.45mph $0 in mods
The member formerly known as MustangEater8251

Yes because the slight weight and size difference would slow down the wheels from spinning a lil but you can always change out the clutch, tranny, and/or flywheel and also add
MORE POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, that longer push requires more power to turn the wheel. Which is why they slow your car down. Secondly, the increased tire surface area is also cancelled since more power is required to turn the wheel. And of course, if you use low profile tires, both of those 'benefits' are cancelled off the bat.

Honestly, I haven't noticed a difference. I went from 245/50/16's to 265/35/18's. The height was nearly the same and the overall ride actually feels better. Tire-wise, I went from Michelin Pilot Sports to BFG GForce Kd's so maybe that has something to with it too. The BFG's are awesome. I love em'. As some of the others mentioned, you could lighten up your car in other ways to make up the difference too. I'm installing an aftermarket hood soon..2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph

And yes, it will handle better. Increasing the size of the wheel (not tire) improves handling since there is less give.

Do you have any times to back that up?
Not to but heads here but weight reduction isn't the same as increasing/decreasing rotational mass.2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph
