  • Squeaking in Rear

Going over speed bumps, I hear squeaking coming from the rear. Is this just one of those infamous mysterious squeaks that "the F-Body is notorious for?"

I wonder this also... I broke my rear end and had it re-placed.. and every since there's been a very small squeek-type noise... the rear end is perfect just... idk there's this little, barely noticable squeek after I go over bumps

Could be many of things. LCA bushings, spring seats, shocks, panhard bar bushings, swaybar bushings, etc. Try some white lithium grease for the bushings and spring seats.

after I installed my bilstens and all the lLE stuff I had a sqeak and a clunk. Finally I got tired of my car making all this racket so I basically greased everything that moved back there. spring seats, sway bushings, shock mounts, control arm ends the only think I didn't do was the panhard bar. don't know why guess I just never worried about it. anyway I have a nice quiet car now :D

Lowes, Home Depot. Auto stores, etc all should carry the lithium grease in a spraycan. Or, go with the urethane bushings. Just be sure to grease the inside of the bushings where they contact the metal to prevent squeaks later on.

You might want to check if your spare tire is loose. Mine was and it would squeak over bumps, so I just tightened it and it went away.
