• new rims and tires

My car is going to need new tires soon and I wanted to get rims as well. I wanted to get the C5 Chrome rims 18x9.5 rear and 18x9 in front with low profile tires. I was wondering how much more weight they add from my stock rims and if it would really make a difference when racing?

Well, since you have a 2000 Firebird I will tell you. ALL of these wheel weights are the Actual GM (OEM) Wheels

16x8 = 19.5 lbs (Our Wheels)
17x9 = 18.1 lbs (C5 Front)
18x9.5 = 20.1 lbs (C5 Rear)

All for 16x8 Wheels weigh 78 lbs.
The C5 Front & Rear weigh 76.4 lbs
The Tires will make the difference in weight.

American Racing torq-thrust II's 17"x9". there aluminum, don't know the exact weight. I have 245/45/ZR17's in front, and 275/40/ZR17's in back. What kind of racing are you doing? Also I believe chrome is heavier that aluminum.
