Lowering your car a 1/2 inch be noticeable?

Lowering your car a 1/2 inch be noticeable? I'm guessing no but will it help you handle better?

How would you go about lowering it just a half inch?

Noticeable is subjective ... it will, technically, make a difference, and you might notice a little difference. 1" and more is dramatic. Too much up front, of course, and you'll scrape more.

You get used to that. My car is lowered about 1.5" and I never scrape on anything... I've learned how to take driveways at just the right angle and I can even clear some speedbumps! [img]smile.gif[/img]

Haha, isn't it great? Some speedbumps are downright scary, particularly with my crossover pipe hanging so low ... But man, when I first put on my HALs, I didn't raise them up high enough. Car had a big rake to it, leaning down in the front. Do you know the onramp to 95 from catonsville on 195? Anyway, it has these little dips, and at 65 mph, any car has a significant bounce to it through these dips. When I hit it, I could hear two distinct sounds -- the pipe scraping underneath, and the tires barking on the plastic wheel well covers. Haha [img]smile.gif[/img]

Raised it back up, it's been ok, but I should go higher I guess.

I went from driving a truck to my lowered bird, the nose doesn't have all of its paint ;)

You should see the speed bumps in my apartment complex street... they're HUGE! Like 8 feet off the ground I swear.. lol I had to take up the whole street and basically go over them sideways

1/2 inch is not that much.. but.. probably not worth it either..

i scrape the hell out of my car.. but its pretty low.. and has a stoopi rake like robs.. but, when it gets nice again I plan on putting the front up about 1/2 inch and the rear down about 1/2 also.. that way i will scrape less and be leval..

First of all, there is a camaro at school that is lowered 1/2 inch. Doesnt look that much different. Second, the speedbumps i usually see are about 6in-1ft long and a few inches high... Until a few days ago. That sucker was about 3 feet long/deep and about4 inches high in the center... i took that speedbump real slow and had to go over it almost sideways... my back left tire was on it just about the same time my front right got on. On a side note, i saw a ricer flying through that parking lot trying to impress some girls... he hit it head on... heard a popping noise, saw a few :rolleyes: sparks. Turns out he broke his front bumper(some type of body kit) Poor guy... girls were lauging at him.

yea sucks also when you get wings west front air dam with a lowered air deflector, that sucks especially when you hit a possum on the highway goin 70 mph after a month of having your ground effect and a possum runs out in front of you and your only option is to either hit it or try to swerve off road with trees 10 ft from road... and even better when he rips your ground effect right off your bumper and you run it over just to add a little spice to it.. gotta love it :(
