How wide, for real?

I have a '94 Camaro. Black, going with black ZO6's. I would like to know the widest I can go on front & back without hammering it or makeing any mods. Hooking up with basic 1" drop next week, springs & such. The tire guy tells me to keep with 275/40/17, yes I would like to do that for rotations, but, what are my options. Please no body pounding. Thanks all. P.S. Would not mind 18's in back,

go 18x9.5 with 285-35-18's all the way around. you should be good. if the rear rubs a bit, it's because of the axle alignment. Get an adj. phr if you don't have one already, and after you put the drop springs on, recenter the rear end.

also just checking tirerack, your looking around $250 per tire for 315's

not sure on camaros, you should be able to use 315's on 17x11's with the 36.5mm offset. might not work without a hammer on the standard 56?mm offset. Birds have fenders that roll out a bit more, camaros I think the tire will be outside of the fender.

I suggest... 17X9.5 w/ 285/40/17 all for corners.

seems like 285/40/17 are starting to get cheaper and cheaper.

Anything like 18s and up generally start like doubling in price per tire...

you can get a LOT more P275/40 tire types than P285/40. I recommend sticking with a P275/40R17 - it's as wide as you will ever NEED.

I agree to that whole heartedly, but if you look at the links I posted, looks like alot of the tire places are starting to offer it more and more and its only like $3-10 more a tire.

jsut something bigger(only slightly) then 275s, but waaaay more affordable then bigger tires like 315s and such.
