  • Tire size/safety question

    i have futuras215-60r-16's on my car right now...BIG MISTAKE i was short on cashh and thats the reason i got those...im looking to upgrade my back tires...if i get the 255-50-16 will it mess up the car and its handling/safety? thanks for the help

    In my opinion the extra width will help with traction and I cant think of any downsides except that your car will stick to the road more, im not sure how much with 255's, and also your speedometer will be off because of the 50 series tire replacing the 60. Hope this helps.

      Not enough to worry about. 60% of 215 is 129mm tire height. 50% of 255 is 127.5mm tire height. so it's about a 1% difference.
