Graduation is coming up and Im buying some replica c5 rims. Im getting them from www.wheelreplicas.com and I need to get tires for them. Im buying 18X9.5 all the way aound and I need to know what size tire I should get. Also Iwas looking into Nitto 550 Extremes because they are one of the cheapest and I haven't heard anything bad. Has anyone else had any problems with these or anyone suggest another tire that is reasonably priced. Thanks for all answers and suggestions.

look for Kumho's and Yokohama's too. you'll be able to fit 265-295 width tires on easily. I'd get 275's or 285's since they're so common.2001 Arctic White Firebird
T-Tops, 3.42 rear gear stock
Mods:K&N Air Filter,Whisper Air Induction Lid, maf screen removed, raised air box, Kumho Ecsta 712 255-50-ZR16 tires, BMR stb
Mods not installed yet: FTRA, SLP Lsd/Differential cover
Near Future Mods: HPP3, GMMG 3\" Exhaust , 1LE Swaybars, Transgo Shift Kit, MSD-DIS-4 w/ Accel Coil-Packs, Turquoise Blue Neon Underbody Kit, BMR Adj. So what does anything think about the profile. Should I get 30,35,40,45. I'm gonna lower the car too because of the added rim height.I will probably go with 285 as far as width. And also anyone have problems with Nittos.1995 Pontiac Firebird 3.4L
TA front bumper, TA rear bumper, 98-02 Honeycomb tailights, GM Ram Air hood, 2k C5 18X9.5 Corvette rims all the way around, custom autoloc shaved handles, camaro two tone interior, silver badging, clear front marker lenses, RK sport headers, gutted cat, dynomax dual exhaust, Rear disc rearend, Richmond 3.73 gears, Zexel torsen LSD, Cross drilled front rotors, 2 12\" MTX thunder 8000s, Clarion 400W amp, MTX 5 1/4
Components, thunder 4262 amp, pioneer head unit, Hypertech power programmer (Yes it does exist)

I think that you should get 245 tires since you got 18" rims, anything more than may be alot of tire to move around in our cars. Also you don't want to rub the tires against the fenders ether.I would get 245/45Z.But thats just my opinion.Maybe you wont be able to fit 245's in such wide rims.

I have 245/50 on my 16X8 inch rims . a 245 will not fit on a 9.5 inch wide rim. The first number is simply width. It really has nothing to do with the heigth of the tire. That is the second number that determines heigth.1995 Pontiac Firebird 3.4L
TA front bumper, TA rear bumper, 98-02 Honeycomb tailights, GM Ram Air hood, 2k C5 18X9.5 Corvette rims all the way around, custom autoloc shaved handles, camaro two tone interior, silver badging, clear front marker lenses, RK sport headers, gutted cat, dynomax dual exhaust, Rear disc rearend, Richmond 3.73 gears, Zexel torsen LSD, Cross drilled front rotors, 2 12\" MTX thunder 8000s, Clarion 400W amp, MTX 5 1/4
Components, thunder 4262 amp, pioneer head unit, Hypertech power programmer (Yes it does exist)

Alright guys...
245 is the width
50 is the percentage of the width that is the height

Remmember if you get 18's you will throw off your speedo...I went with 17's all the way around and it didn't throw it off at all. I personally like the 18's in the back and 17's in the front but 18's just get to damn expensive so I went with 17's all the way around. Corvette wheels look awsome on F-body's (ZO6 or C5). I would go with what Patrick Javert said on tire size, 275/285. you don't really need 275 or 285 in front its just added weight its the rear that you want wide for traction 245 up front is all you need.GreenMachine
96 Camaro RS Convertable
home made CAI,! maf,eibach pro kit,Y87,Flowmaster 80s,hi flow cat,taylor wires,160 stat,99C5 rims with 2 245/45/ZR17 and 2 275/40/ZR18 Nitto 555 extremes
Homepage up @ RSPICS

I have heard that kumhos are better than non-drag radial nittos as far as grip
I just put 255 kumhos on my stock rims, look great, and seem to give good traction (still breaking them in) Kumhos are supposed to have excellent wet traction as well.
Don't go any larger than 255 stock or lightly modified, its really not needed.
And get the same size tire all around, you want to be able to rotate them.2001 75th Anniversary V6 Pewter Firebird w/ Chrome Wheels, T-Tops, & Y87
Mods: Free Ram Air, !Silencer, Holley Filter, Full 3\" Hooker Catback, 3\" Cat
Best time: 15.095 at 90.00 MPH with a 2.127 60\'

hey Silver00 how wide are your rims on the front? Im afraid the 9.5 inch wide rim is going to be too much to turn the wheel the whole way.
On a different note why is everyone still saying to get 245 or 255 on the front. THEY WONT FIT. Im getting 285/35/18 all the way around.1995 Pontiac Firebird 3.4L
TA front bumper, TA rear bumper, 98-02 Honeycomb tailights, GM Ram Air hood, 2k C5 18X9.5 Corvette rims all the way around, custom autoloc shaved handles, camaro two tone interior, silver badging, clear front marker lenses, RK sport headers, gutted cat, dynomax dual exhaust, Rear disc rearend, Richmond 3.73 gears, Zexel torsen LSD, Cross drilled front rotors, 2 12\" MTX thunder 8000s, Clarion 400W amp, MTX 5 1/4
Components, thunder 4262 amp, pioneer head unit, Hypertech power programmer (Yes it does exist)

the only reason I'd get all 4 tires the same size is just to be able to rotate the tires every once in a while. you can easily put on 285-35-18's on the rear and 275-35-18's on the front. It'll look like a drag car kinda w/ the rear end sticking up a bit more than the front, but you'll still get good cornering ability since the sidewalls are not huge, yet are big enough in the rear to provide some tracion off the line. Personally, if i were to get vette rims, I'd either get the 2k C5 rims w/ 17x8.5 fronts and 18x9.5's rear and put on 265-40-17 and 295-45-18 on the rear, or get ZR1 rims w/ 285-35-17 fronts and 315-35-17's rear. Wider rear tires help prevent oversteer and give better traction, while the smaller fronts fit in the wheel wells and are still wide enough to help handle well in corners, yet have less sidewall for increased cornering ability. Considering I'm an extremist as far as my car goes, I'll probly wait and save my cash up for a set of forged rims, 17, 18x9.5 front, 18x11, 11.5, 12 in the rear. Why go so extreme? For cornering and off-the-line traction, looks(wider rear is better), and weight reduction(more hp/tq to the ground). Yes, I know I'll be saving for a efw years to get them, but that's why they're almost deal last on my mods list.2001 Arctic White Firebird
More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

the 2k c5 rims are what I'm getting. Wheelreplicas just has them available in a whole set of 18x9.5 instead of 17s in the front and 18s in the back like on stock c5s. And yes im getting the same size tire so I can rotate them. With tires at over $200 a pop I can't afford to burn the back ones off and have to buy new ones instead of swapping em up front.1995 Pontiac Firebird 3.4L
TA front bumper, TA rear bumper, 98-02 Honeycomb tailights, GM Ram Air hood, 2k C5 18X9.5 Corvette rims all the way around, custom autoloc shaved handles, camaro two tone interior, silver badging, clear front marker lenses, RK sport headers, gutted cat, dynomax dual exhaust, Rear disc rearend, Richmond 3.73 gears, Zexel torsen LSD, Cross drilled front rotors, 2 12\" MTX thunder 8000s, Clarion 400W amp, MTX 5 1/4
Components, thunder 4262 amp, pioneer head unit, Hypertech power programmer (Yes it does exist)
