If you take all 4 sets to a shop they will probaly charge you 1-1.5 to change them. If they take them off the car and everything you are probaly looking at about 4 hours of labor that they will charge you. Find out what the average labor rate is, around here is right around 100 bucks an hour.

Compress the spring with a set of compressors.Get the socket that goes over the strut rod then put the 14mm or 15mm closed end wrench over the rod and onto the nut. Use the socket to spin the rod off the nut.

Any other way might damage the rod and or nut, and basicly ruin the upper strut mount. They tend to get really rusty and stick together. Be carefull an upper strut mount is at least 50 extra bucks.

mine was so rusted i had to cut the old shock out of them and get new mounts at $80 each !!!

hm i think this one shop i normally go to is like 70. but i want to learn to do it myself. so ima try it.

The springs ae not as difficult to install, but if I were you I'd get the shocks done professionally, people have been killed trying to install them themselves, NO LIE. Compressed gasses inside a small cylinder + beginner = disaster. I'd let a shop do it that way you can get your tires spin balanced and a wheel alignment. You'll know it's done right then.
