I was wondering if any of you guys have this full kit offered by SLP, who also offers a HEAVY DUTY package w/ reinforced control arms and panhard bar, and is it worth the asking price of.... $699.00?
You can check the kit out at SLP's website, part # 70001.
Red \'99 3.8
Induction: SLP Cold Air Intake, K&N Air Filter, Whisper Lid
Ignition: Taylor Spiro-Pro Wires, Bosch Platinum 2 Plugs
Suspension: Power Slot Rotors, Hawk HPS Pads, Mille Miglia MM11-2 18x9, Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 245/40-18
you'd have to mix and match other components since the SLP level 1 is the only "complete" pakage out there. I'm just gonna take the best parts from each company and throw them on and see what's up. 1LE swaybars, Global West trac-link torque arm, BMR adj. lca's, BMR adj. phr, Ground control coil-over kit, HAL 12-way adjustable shocks, ect.
Get the Level 1 kit, plus the 1LE rear sway bar. The reinforced stuff is basically 'boxed', & can have a tendency to bind in certain situations from what I recall. I think the Level 1 kit includes 1LE front sway bar & bushings, shocks, springs, 1LE PHR & LCA's, correct? If you plan on lowering the car, then you may want to consider just picking up the sway bars & LCA's, since you might want to add an adjustable PHR & lowering springs as opposed to what the Level 1 kit comes with.

They may be the best from each company, but I would never say they are the best parts.

True, there are usually a GP or two floating around for this kit. I've seen it as cheap as 550.

Seriously, if there's stuff in the kit you don't want or need, don't get it. You can easily piece together a good suspension setup without buying an entire kit. If I knew I needed knew shocks & springs, I would probably get it, but since I don't, there's no need for it all. Granted, you could buy the kit & sell what you don't want. I think it's a good deal, but only if it's got everything you need.

Fin,
What do you mean by the term "Boxed"? And you think I should get a rear sway bar..... Do our cars come with them stock? If not where would it connect?
Dom,
A lot of people seem to have an opinnion on this kit, what's your's?

When I use the term boxed, I'm referring to the reinforced items that SLP sells (such as LCA & PHR) where they simply weld a piece of metal to the open side of the LCA or PHR, thus 'boxing' it. As for the rear sway bar, yes our cars have them stock (unlike V6 Mustangs), and getting a larger rear one to compliment the 32mm front sway bar in the SLP kit would be very helpful.

Hmm... Thats the deal my brother got with the GP he went with. The GP I got mine through was 600. Check the boards, ls1tech.com, ls1.com, and camaroz28.com. Good luck!

Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
