  • time for new rear springs/shocks?

i was driving in the rain a few months ago and spun the car out hitting a few guard rails, damaging the front and rear bumpers. i got all the bodywork done, but now the back end is squeking alot while driving, and even worse when people are seating in the backseat, do you think that i need to replace the rear springs, shocks, or both? would it be ok to replace the rear but not the front? i have 124,000 miles on the car, so the best thing would probably be to replace everything but money is a little tight, since i just got done rebuilding the entire engine.

it might be as simple as greasing the swaybar bushings and endlinks to solve that problem. My rear was squeaking badly too in the cold weather back in 2003 and I fixed it by greasing them.

Have someone push on the car and find the squeek.

Seeing as you had so many miles, and you also took the suspension into the extreme by spinning, I would have no doubt you would ATLEAST need to replace the Shocks... I replaced only my rear and I no longer bottom out at the rear, get squeaky noises, get bad traction or sluggish accelleration with a heavy load.

Stock shocks/struts arn't supposed to last more than 50K so you're doing good making it this far...

thanks for the advice, i will try greasing them and probably take it to the shop to get the shocks and springs replaced, any guess what it might cost for the parts and labor (500-600 dollars)?
