  • new stuff... please help

I just bought new wheels and rotors for my car, (96 Camaro w/ Y87 Package), and I have a few questions I need help answering. I got new cross drilled/slotted rotors and I need to know if I need to or supposed to replace my brake pads when I put on the new rotors? My pads are still good put should I replace them or do I have to, to keep the rotors from warping? Also I bought a set of ZR1's w/ Eagle F1 GS's 275/40/ZR17, will they cause my speedo to be off? Right now I have, 245/50/R16's. Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Your speedo won't be off, P245/50R16 and P275/40R17 tires are the same height.

If your pads are in good shape, don't bother replacing them when you swap rotors. Some might tell you to do this, but IMO its definetly unnecessary on a street only car.

    Enjoy those new wheels!!

      Thanks a lot Dominic.

I also have another question, would the advertised "dustless" brake pads do any good w/ cross drilled/slotted rotors? I heard they would shave the pads anyways. I figured the "dustless" pads would help keep my new wheels clean. What do ya think?

the dustless pads will be better than normal pads no matter what. yea, u'll see more dust using drilled/slotted rotors, but the dustless pads won't put out more dust than the stock pads will.
