brake rotors

does anyone have a recomendation for cross drilled slotted rotors that would fit my 2000 firebird. i'd like to keep the stock calipers.
and i'd also like rotors that are zinc coated that won't rust up. ohio uses salt on the road in our 9 month long winter, and i want ones that are going to continue to look "new".
also, would anyone recomend me just getting slotted rotors that aren't cross drilled.
I've heard horror stories of cross drilled rotors breaking.

a lot of people seem to get the hawk pads along with the powerslot rotors. powerslot also has slotted and dimpled rotors for that cross drilled look.

how are the hawk pads regaurding pads about throwing dust, but i still wonder if getting cross drilled rotors is a bad thing due to the rotors cracking. has anyone had any experiences with that?

they have pretty cheap ones. from what i've heard, they buy blank brembo brakes and crossdrill/slot them theirselves, havent heard much about them though.

irotors wanted $159 shipped for the front, and an extra $159 shipped for the rear. that's $318.
i found another company in cali called "Rotorz 4 Less" (562-208-6546) that are selling me all four rotors, power slotted, cross drilled, & silver zinc plated, along with ceramic brake pads to go all the way around the car for 300 bucks.
the rotors are $160, the pads are $50 for the front, and $50 for the rear. They only chage shipping for the rotors $40. this totals the $300.
also, for an extra $12 bucks a rotor, you can have them plated with either gold, or black zinc. the silver is the standard (but it's the color i wanted, so i don't care) plus, the zinc plating is applied the correct way, not the cheap way. some cheaper manufactures just spray on a paint coating with a heavy zinc content. quality manufactures dip the rotors into a zinc compound after they've been slotted, and drilled, then zap them with electrical current that bonds the zinc to the metal. (i spent way to much time researching this) supposedly that's what this "Rotorz 4 Less" company does. irotors does the same process, but they were alot more expensive. i have yet to receive these "Rotorz 4 Less" rotors that i ordered. fed-ex should be dropping them off on friday....possibly saturday. i'll let you guys know about the initial quality then. but a real quality review really shouldn't be judged until these things see some driving, and as much as i hate to say this... some ohio snowy roads with salt on them to test their rust resistance.

The thing about the cracking rotors is pretty much a fib unless you do ALOT of roadracing or something where you go really fast and SLAM the brakes frequently.

I have irotors and I have cracking and they haven't seen anything but normal street use. I don't know if I got a bad batch or what, but I'll post the pix later today.
