• Machining grooves in new Brembo rotors?

I just received my Brembo OEM replacement rotors from tirerack, and they have machining grooves.

All rotors I have bought from parts stores, or after I have had used ones turned, they had a smooth, mirror like finish. These grooves you can actually feel with your finger, and see.

Here are two pictures.

So, is this OK to put on the car? Or should I have them lightly machined to make them smooth?

Thats normal, especially on high performance rotors, as it helps bed in the pads when you first use them. Its just like how in a new engines, the cyls are cross-hatched to allow the piston to "wear it in" and match it perfectly.

Those rotors are nice!!

Yeah, they look, and feel, heavier than stock, if my memory is correct. I will take some comparison weights and pictures when I put them on.

Heck of a deal, 2 brembo front rotors shipped for 121 from tirerack.

Yup, those are normal.
My autozone front rotors had that when I got them and my friend's front replacements had them too.
