  • Lowering spring question....

I have had a set of MAC lowering springs on my car for about a year now, ~25000 miles on them, my question is this....do they go bad? i know my shocks arent all that great, but lately my car has been, lack of any other way to put it, mushy, in steering responce and bumps. I can take the back end of my car, and lift it and bounce it and my suspension will bottom out completely, with no effort.
    any ideas on this?

i think its your shocks. if you kept your stock ones or got take-offs, i'm sure they're bad now. btw, did you notice much of a drop w/ those springs? i put those on my car and measured the drop, it was only 3/4'' so after a year i got the rksport springs which lowered it an inch lower than the macs.

lowered it about 1.5" all around, sags a bit lower in the back due to the subs, but i want even lower, so im eventually going to do air ride (about 3-6 months away though)

Springs typically do not go bad unless they have flawed metal or have been stretched in a collision. However I have heard bad stories of MAC springs being overly soft or overly stiff depending on the year model application.

Shocks are the only component that can/will go bad. If it didn't do this 25,000 miles ago, change your shocks.
