got jegster sub-frame connectors, how to paint them???
My girlfriend got me these for christmas as I was cheap and didn't want to get them welded on. They are just flat black, but the rest of my undercarriage is red. I was wondering, what could I do as far as painting them goes to make them red? I know powdercoating is the way to go, but I doubt I can afford some back-yard kit for $200 subframe connectors. Please let me know.
You could go to a local automotive paint shop and get the same color red paint that is on the body of your car. It is an enamel paint and will adhere very well. Get the type of primer that they suggest for metal, the reducer for the paint and get an aerosol sprayer, which is a little glass jar for the paint with a sprayer on top. Most paint shops will know what this is and you can also get them at Home Depot for about $3. Follow the reduction instructions and paint those thigns. You will be very impressed by the outcome. You could also put a nice clear coat on top for the extra protection.
