• Differences Between V6 and V8 Steering

Edit: Owned myself by forgetting to search first I found the V8 and Y87 has the same steering ratio 14:1 and the standard v6 has 16:1

What all do I need to change in order to upgrade to the quicker steering ratio?

Thats it? I thought I would need to change the rack and the pinion gear.

You are correct. Rack and pinion gear it is.
I expect it's probably really expensive to do.

Well, I need a new rack anyways.

From what I've heard it's not just expensive, but also really hard to do.

Don't pay any attention to James. He's a little light headed from all the weight reduction. :D
I don't think the pump is different, just the rack. You should be able to swap out the without to much trouble.
As far as cost, a NEW rack would be too much $. I would guess about $200 for a rebuilt exchange, and a used one shouldn't be hard to find for less.

The thing with the V8 rack is its more twitchy at highspeeds, but it does make turning quickly a wee bit quicker Its more personal preferance than a performance upgrade.
