• Tire question

I just purchased a set of blizzaks for my car.

235x60x16

I just got them on the rear...this wont affect my milage will it? will it give me a faulty reading in mph? just curious.

If it is off, it won't be off by enough to worry about, maybe 1-2 mph.

Btw, tire questions go in handling I believe

Maybe I am reading this wrong... but do you have different tires up front? You have two different types of tires on your car? Or are the rears a little wider than the fronts?

They are taller not wider Why? You should have gotten 245/50/16's or something.

The rears are taller, yes. But they are also wider: 235mm vs. 215mm. ;)

And don't worry, you speedometer is not going to be off too much.

The Blizzak's are winter tires, right? Even though the handling with winter tires sucks :( , you should still try to keep the same size tires in all four corners. Just my suggestion...

Later! ;)

Well technically you should run the same ties in fornt and back for the abs system.
The front tires (rim to tire) are 129 mm
The rear tires (rim to tire) are 141 mm
12 mm isn't that much but it might be enough to mess with the abs system.
Just be carefull, if you see an abs light then you know the car doesn't like the different tire height combo

Alright thanx guys.

I only put on tires for the rear because they are only for winter purposes. Last winter i couldnt get out of the garage cause my back tires kept on spinning so i decided to get a set of blizzaks to grab some traction.

The tires will only be on until the snow is gone, as of yet, in chicago we've only seen a little dusting of snow so i cant really tell how they feel.

Also i had 2 rims laying around, and instead of taking off my old tires and putting the blizzaks on, i just decided to get them ballanced on the 2 rims i had laying around.

James:
As for the abs system, would i get an SES light if something wasnt working out? Just out of curiousity, mines been on for a lil bit and i need to tap it to see whats going on (probably has to do w/ my fan switch).

Also a reason i got the 235x60x16's was cause they were on sale.

$60 each, so i payed around $150 total to get them put on which wasnt that bad in my book.

If i would have gotten the 215x60x16's they would have ran me a lot more money (retail was 79.99 for each tire)

ses light is probably fan but might be the abs.
I just don't know.
You might want to see if anyone can scan it for you.
I could but I'm kinda far away
