  • Lowering Springs (Headlight Realignment)

Quick question. I want to put lowering springs on the rear only of my 94 Pont. Firebird. My question is if I only lower the rear, will I have to do anything with my headlights to keep them from blinding on coming traffic.

If I lower the rear without lowering the front, will that cause any problems?

Lowering springs are generally stiffer that stock springs. If you don't change both, your car will be somewhat unbalanced. If you change the rear only, the rear will be stiffer than the front(relatively to the stock setup). Because of this I think you may experience an oversteer condition. It's similar to people who change to a larger rear sway bar without changing the front bar.

If you want to lower it, I would suggest doing both front and rear at the same time. I assume you are trying to get rid of the high rear end look from the sides? Doing both front and rear should eliminate that.
