  • Shock squeak still, after new shocks

Hey all, recently i posted about how my rear shocks were squeaking. i installed my bilsteins yesterday and the squeak is still there!!!! also the stiffer ride from the shocks doesnt help how my rear axle hits my exhaust pipe!!!! any thoughts on how save my exhaust pipe? maybe zip-tie a rag around it for some cusion or somthing? thanks.

Calm down dude. Shocks don't squeak -- springs do. You're probably rubbing metal-metal at either the top or bottom of your spring, (top should have isolator), so you might try some grease where the spring sits.

Not to mention te fact that your exhaust shuld NOT be hitting your axle.. I would get an exhaust shop to take a look at that..

lol yea the dudes at MIDAS did it... it was weird.. i went there and hes like...hmmmm 80 bucks and i just handed him cash and he shoved it in his pocket and started welding LOL after that he just closed the gate and left... i wonder if he was an IMPOSTER!! anyway he told me straight up "yea when your goin over speedbumps that loud clang you hear is going to be the exhaust hitting the rear axle...." then he told me to fire it up and when i did he grinned and left...oh well i guess i could always take it back there but that was a LOOoooaoOOOng time ago
maybe i should take it somewhere else and ask someone about it

yes, that would be a wise course of action.. the squeaking could be something in the exhaust as well..

the rear spring seats are kinda just round rubber dougnuts..

if you get under the car.. and look at the top of the spring.. you can see it.. jsut a hunk of black rubber..
