Put on new Sumitomo tires today (now with track results)

I had some new Sumitomo HTR 50Z's installed today. All four corners got them. They're 245/50/ZR16's. So far I LOVE them. They are sooo much better in every performance and looks aspect compared to my old 235/55 Goodyear Eagle GTII's. I bought them off of Tire Rack for $82 a piece. They take curves very well, and seem to bite very good from a stop. I'll post either tomorrow night or Saturday with results from the track. So far my best 60' on the old eagles has been a 2.23, but the average was a 2.26. I'm hoping to hit a 2.1, but if I can pull that average down to a low 2.2 I'll be happy. I should also be able to get some pics up Sunday night if anyone is interested.

I am interested in some picts. My Kuhmos have lasted just about a year....some my fault due to failure to rotate.....but I saw those tires, let me know how they handle

I got some of those... 245/45/R17 HTR Z's

They grip wonderfully and theyre nice and cheap.

the kumho's last the same time as goodyears do, which is about a year, whether u rotate or not. mine lasted a year also.

Well the track results didn't quite turn out how I planned. Track prep went from bad to non-existent. Best 60' was 2.29. I need to get the tires broke in more I think. But don't get me wrong, I think they definitely have good potential at the track. I'll have new track results next weekend when after I get back from my first trip to a quarter mile track. (hopefully they'll keep the prep up the whole night)

Hmm, I thought tire-life depends on how many miles you rack up not how many years go by.

i have sumitomo's. htr+'s. just got back from the track. 2.0 60's. track prep was great. BUT STILL. 2.0!!

jamie: I have the same tires...I had kumhos on before. I hated them with a passion. As soon as I put the sumitomos on, It felt like the handling was 100 times better.
