• Dunlops or Michlins?

My dad always has had dunlops and they seam to last along time and give pretty good grip, another friend of mine recomended I go to cosco and get Michlins, I have never bought tires from cosco, are they any good?
I really only need rear ones but at the same time I would like new ones all around and I think my front ones are cracked from siting, they have all little, but not deep crackes in the tread.
Right now mine are 235/55/R16's I was thinking of upgrading to 245/50 but was wondering if I would get better handling or feel any difference? I know many guys have done that.
And last what would you expect to be a average price for tires? I was quoted $130 each for tire, mounting and balencing for a 235 good year replacement. (seems kinda expensive)

Don't go with another set of goodyears - they are terrible tires that don't last long and have the grip of a snot covered pole.

Cheap replacement option = Kumho 711 P245/50R16 $60/ea

Any P245/50 or P255/50 will fit fine.

Dunlop Sp5000s rule, Sp8000s are good too but don't last as long. Kumho 712s and 711s are excellent tires, cant beat the price! Bridgestone RE950s are good in P245/50 as well, and carry a 45,000 mile warranty.

Do some tirerack shopping!

Don't get a pinhole in the sidewall, theyre single ply and easily rip apart if you get one. Depends on the Pilot you get on how good they are, michilens Ive found are only good when theyre in the $220+ range which is really too expensive for what they can do.

However, if you like them, thats all that counts. I love the upperend pilots, but I could never afford them.

-I really loved my Michalin Sport Pilots, Amazing performance, horrible value
-I dislike my Dunlop SP Sport 5000's, little traction, average value
-I disliked my Goodyears, little traction, value: came with the car
