• bigger tires=better track times?

a buddy of mine siad that if i went out and found the biggest tire/slick i could fit on my stock rims, and took it to the track, i could drop my time by almost a second...is that true?

For your setup, no. You'll be fine with 245 nittos and even those could be too much. One guy got 1.51 on the 275/40/17s. Track was prepared well and his suspension was tuned well.

What ever smallest tire hooks off the line will do best. Going bigger will only hurt. If track is not prepared well then nothing will help you. Just forget it and go home or find some better track to go to.
