  • LS1 brake conversion...

i was in the middle of doing my coversion to my camaro when i was taking off the lower A-arm. i hit the bottom of the knuckle to loosen in but when i went to take the rest of the castle nut off, the bolt turned with the nut, i didn't know how to get if off. i could greatly use any help asap

also, does anyone know what part of the brake line needs to be bent forward.

    thanks :(

    Couple of thoughts.

    1. Impact wrench.

    2. If you don't have any load on the bolt, temporarily put a load on it long enough to get the nut broken loose. Sometimes as little as wedging a screwdriver in there somewhere. Maybe setting the rotor against a wooden block and letting the car down just a little against it.

There will be a metal brake line coming into the wheel well and it goes into a bracket and then adapts to the rubber line. That bracket where the two lines meet you will want to bend down a little to like a 45 degree angle. Maybe a little less.

This is also a good time to replace ball joints while you are under there. Just fyi

Upper ones you have to drill out the 3 rivets. Lower ones you have to get pressed in.
