  • Replaced Bushings

I replaced my LCA and panhard bushing with poly from Prothane and my tranny mount with 1LE.

It was quite a PITA to get those LCA bushings out, but I did.

They are great and I am very happy with my setup so far. They don't squeak and my rear is a hell of a lot more solid. I can finally powerslide around turns, its quite fun.

I also did the tranny mount, my stock one was busted and the new one was a huge improvement.

The LCA bushings were NOT trivial. I would only recommend changing the LCA bushings if you have some good mechanical know how and tools.

A poly torque arm bushing is going in as soon as I get some time.

How difficult was it to change the trans mount?

I wish you luck with poly LCA bushings, I guess since the stock LCAs flex a little and can twist some it hopefully wont bind up too badly.

The trans mount was incredibly easy, it only took about 30 min and that was with cleaning the support bracket.

This site has some great install guides http://www.installuniversity.com/

I was trying to solve a problem I had with the driveshaft hitting but even with the tranny lowered a good inch it is still hitting the tunnel.

Another note, since the mount did lower the tranny a bit, it also in effect lowered my 3"in pipes to the point where they were resting the chassis brace connecting the subframe. It sounded horrible when I ran the car.

I had to remove the brace temporarily until I can make some spacers out of some steel shim.
