Pull the fuse. But I would NOT advise doing that.I know you "think" you can stop a lot faster than ABS but you can't.The car WILL stop in a shorter distance with ABS enabled. So please be aware of that if you pull the fuse.

the only reason i can think of for pullling the abs would be to lock up the brakes and throw the car around for ****s and giggles, besides that, leave them on. Im sure you cant pump the brakes quicker than the computer

OK, here's some anti-ABS commentary-
I've got an '88 & '98 S-10. I personally think the ABS is worthless, and my front right rim can testify. I've hit curbs a couple of times turning while the ABS was "working" and the final straw was when I almost got nailed coming to a stop on wet brick.
I think there is definitly room for human input when it comes to braking, whether your pumping the brakes or doing a controlled slide.
Since I pulled the fuse on my truck I've had no problems with braking (no more curbs). I tried to pull it with the car but it gave me an SES. CAMAROS

The Fbody 98+ braking systems are some of the best ABS systems around. In fact its the only ABS system I am aware of that works as it should, however it can be startling to use.
I can only recommend the next rainy day you have, all alone on a strip of road, coming to a stop, jam on the brakes and see how she reacts. Its a HUGE problem with drivers today that they don't know how their car will react, they just think they do, and they end up expecting more out of it than it can deliver - causing a wreck due to overestimation.
If you want to disable ABS, fine by me go ahead, but really its a good option for most scenarios.
Im not much on airbags myself I hate the bloody things. 2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

I'd say keep 'em. I seriously believe they saved me from sliding into trafic one rainy day when I came up to a stop "a little" too fast. Deffinately stayin active on my car...

Are you pumping the brakes while the ABS is activated? That may be why you are sliding into things. If you pump the brakes in an ABS equipped car you will seriously confuse the computer. Not sure if this is your issue or not, just an idea.....

ABS will save your bacon, don't disable it. If it didn't work, car manufacturers wouldn't put ABS on 90% of new cars. "Old school" guys that think ABS sucks are just using the ABS as an excuse for when they wreck their car in the snow or other low-traction conditions.
