Yor car probably came stock with the 235-55-16" Goodyear's...PUKE! They Blow!
If you have 245's on it now, the previous owner had them installed.
For price, stick with Kumho 711 245-50-16's. They are a damn good price, and decent quality tire for your money, and they'll fit just fine in your wheelwells. :D
If you want to spend a bit more, you can go with the Kumho 712 ECSTA 255-50-16's (what I have on my car), and they'll fit into your wheelwells too, but they cost a bit more and there really isn't too much difference between the 245's and 255's, except bragging rights.

The two narrower sizes are what comes with V6s, stock/optional. The wider ones come on V8s, stock. You can use any of the three sizes.
Tires in each size vary a lot, but there are some useful rules of thumb. Narrower tires will usually give less traction, be cheaper, and last longer. Wider tires will usually give more traction, cost more, and may "nibble" over road irregularities.2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs
