The Y87 package has the same steering ratio as the V8's. I've never seen any parts for sale to change the steering ratio, but if they were out there I don't think it's worth the money to try to change it.

The cheapest way is to get a V8 steering rack from a salvage yard.

Since we dont have speed sensetive steering, this faster ratio will make cornering and parking the car (low speed) much easier. But changing lanes over 70mph will be a little more touchy, I personally do not like the Y87 rack, and thats why I opted to instead add a torsen to my non Y87 car

But what if you were to replace the steering wheel w/ one that may be bigger in diameter than stock? will that make it less "touchy?"

You'd hit you're knees a lot more ... and don't sacrifice an air bag to fix a steering wheel problem that's a steering rack problem in the first place. And it probably wouldn't help your situation anyway.
