The Y87 package has the same steering ratio as the V8's. I've never seen any parts for sale to change the steering ratio, but if they were out there I don't think it's worth the money to try to change it.Pewter 2002 Z28 M6
Black \'98 Camaro 3.8 M5 (Gone)
Silver \'97 Camaro Conv. 3.8 A4 (Girlfriend\'s)

The cheapest way is to get a V8 steering rack from a salvage yard.Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com

Since we dont have speed sensetive steering, this faster ratio will make cornering and parking the car (low speed) much easier. But changing lanes over 70mph will be a little more touchy, I personally do not like the Y87 rack, and thats why I opted to instead add a torsen to my non Y87 car 2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

But what if you were to replace the steering wheel w/ one that may be bigger in diameter than stock? will that make it less "touchy?"2001 Arctic White Firebird
T-Tops, 3.42 rear gear stock
Mods:K&N Air Filter,Whisper Air Induction Lid, maf screen removed, raised air box, Kumho Ecsta 712 255-50-ZR16 tires, BMR stb
Mods not installed yet: FTRA, SLP Lsd/Differential cover
Near Future Mods: HPP3, GMMG 3\" Exhaust , 1LE Swaybars, Transgo Shift Kit, MSD-DIS-4 w/ Accel Coil-Packs, Turquoise Blue Neon Underbody Kit, BMR Adj. You'd hit you're knees a lot more ... and don't sacrifice an air bag to fix a steering wheel problem that's a steering rack problem in the first place. And it probably wouldn't help your situation anyway.
