  • KYB or Bilstein Shocks?

I'm looking into getting new shocks for my car (94 Camaro). I just got this car for $2,000.00 and the shocks are done. I mean I actually got down to check and see if they were still there, So I've been checking and I've come to see that these are pretty much the best you can get for the f-body. So I'm asking if any one has these shocks and which ones are the best.

Not even a close call. Bilstein all the way. KYB are economy type shocks.

      What about Koni?

Koni are awesome, but very expensive and I would get them only if you are a very serious autox and road racer.

i thought the KYB AGX's were supposed to be the best because they are adjustable? thats what i was planning on getting

Pick up the SLP Bilsteins from TByrne. I installed them on my Camaro and I freaking love them. Night and day difference from the stockers.

people say that the kyb agx's dont work well with sportline springs. if you have drop shocks (more than 1") you should probably consider bilstein (or koni). stock springs or eibach pro springs the kyb agx will probably work fine. many people use this setup apparently.

When putting any new springs on it is best to replace the stock decarbons... they suck as*hole.

Bilstein HD and Hotchkis springs here... lovin it.

Tell us why chas stock shocks are fine on a ProKit but not on a sportline setup.

                      Bilsteins here.

Custom revalves in front (Stranoparts.com), and 3rd gen HD's in back (better curves than the 4th gen for my spring setup).

                      Love em.

If your not looking for a non performace shock, but rather a replacement shock to put the life back in your suspention, look at the SLP takeoffs, at about 25 bucks each, they can't be beat.

H&R Springs and KYB AGX shocks here. Definitely a good combo.

the sportlines have like a 2" drop or so. most stock (or near stock) shocks arent going to be able to damp the rebound with the reduced travel. the prokit is about a 1" drop or so.

i would run stock shocks on either spring really though. the stock shocks probably wouldnt last long with the higher rates on aftermarker springs.

i dont remember saying use stock springs on the pro kit. how did you infer this?
