I need people's opinions on what suspension components I should get. My ideal set-up is something that is streetable and good at the drag strip. Im also getting into autocrossing. Which set-up would be ideal for these situations. I also plan on lowering my car with eibach lowering spings and koni adjustable shocks.
Thanks for all the help
Is your car a daily driver? Do you care how it rides? Do you mainly drag race or autoX? Where is your focus?
We all want a good car for everything, but that means compromise. If you're just looking for something better all the way around, throw some Bilstein HD shocks on it and call it a day
Anything past that is going to alter the car in some way shape or form to focus it into a direction you might want or not want to go in.
Yes my car is a daily driver. I personally like alittle bit of a stiffer ride so as long as the suspension isnt really soft i will like it. My main focus is drag racing. I have only autocrossed once an enjoyed it but I wont get into it heavy. With that in mind what would be the best options for my set-up. Also, money is not really any issue. Thanks for the help.
well, for a mx of drag and auto x, and hard street driving, rod-ended lca's will help. if u want something cheaper, the 1LE or BMR poly/rubber combo lca's will also be good. for lowering a car, u'll wanna get an adj. phr to re-center ur rear end after u lower it. also, ur lca's either need to be adjustable, or u need relocation brackets to get more traction after u lower ur car. matching the swaybar u get w/ ur springs will help a lot w/ drag racing and cornering. for a good mix, softer front and rear springs for a better launch off the line, and stiffer swaybars for better cornering as well as traction off the line. a torque arm might or might not be needed. it's good for both cornering as well as drag racing, getting u even more traction as long as the tires can keep up. front a-arms wouldn't really do much unless u get some really sticky rubber and the suspension absolutely can't handle it. u should address chassis stiffening as well. an stb will help cornering as well as braking, and sfc's will help cornering, braking, and drag racing, and a roll cage will tie it all together even more, as well as give u extra safety in case of a crash or roll over.
2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!
The only suspension mod I have done is the 1LE front and rear sways and end links from GM Parts direct. WOW! What a difference these made. Like night and day with no change to my ride quality. There are those on this board that will disaggree, but for me it is EXACTLY what I wanted. Mine is a daily driver in the good weather only. No winters. I tool around Boston for work all day long. I love it. Just my two cents.

I have the whole 1LE set from SLP and its such a huge difference, but it doesn't lower the car any in my opinion. The springs are much stiffer and the ride is bumpy but when you take those complete circle off ramps at like 90mph you'll be grinnging ear to ear! I think the suspension is well worth the price but be prepared to get rapped on the labor unless you can somehow do it all yourself, springs and shocks being the most difficult of course. My car handles better than the WS6s now, I'm very pleased...now all I need is to have more ponies than a WS6...
