I am installing Bilstein HD Monday.

Question: Can I us J-bolt spring compressors to lower the car an inch all around and firm up the springs without affecting the shock performance? I don't want to replace the springs.

Bad idea. You're preloading the springs. The ride will become stiff and the car won't handle as well.

Deffentially no, that would be dangerous, just buy new springs.
