• DO I NEED NEW SHOCKS???

Ok I have had my car for 2 years now and was thinking about getting new shocks. Riding in my car is horrible, every bump I hit I gringe my teeth. I'm not sure if our cars are suppose to be this rough, but I doubt it. I have 87,000 miles and have orange shocks (are these the factory shocks). I want a smoother ride (like a luxury car, I'm not worried about performance) what shocks are good for giving our f-bodies a super smooth ride? What does it cost for a set of 4 shocks. I'm will be selling my car in 6 months so nothing to crazy.

Sounds like you have originals to me. I just replaced my front struts with Monro Sensi-tracks not long ago and I think they're a great strut for the dollar. Monro also carries other models that are a little cheaper... I forget what I paid for mine. The front struts are going to run you a good deal more then the rear shocks for that very reason... struts vs. shocks. Then take installation into play if you don't want to mess with it... I was too lazy :D

Rear shocks are an EASY switch and will make a world of difference (not to mention cheap because any idiot with a socket wrench could change them).

Anyway, that's my $.02 e-mail me if you need anything -- good luck!

If you're getting rid of the car in six months, go for the SLP Take-off shocks. $50 for all 4. Can't beat that. I had the same problem you did. I put the the take-offs on last week, and it made a world of difference. You still feel bumps though.. it is a camaro after all. Since they're off a Z28, you get a decent ride and good handling. Best bank for the buck.
