    i got a 2002 Z28. i am looking for a new suspension system, shock and spring together. i want to drop my car at least 1.5 inches and to improve my car's 1/4 mile time.
    if i drop my z28 1.5 inches, will it mess up the front tires. if anyone dropped their camaro 1.5 inches to 2 inches lower, please tell me if anything bad happen to your tires? and what brandname of spring will help me improve my car's 1/4 mile time.
    what shock should i get to improve my ride and help in 1/4 mile time
    my actual goal is to get the spring and shock that will drop my car at least 1.5 inches and improve my 1/4 miles time.

    You can do a few things:
    Drop for looks and generalized handling
    Setup for Drag racing
    Setup for Autocross
    Setup for Road Racing
    Some sorta combo of the above

    Keep in mind that Drag racing wants softer springs in the back, and road racing wants stiffer springs all around. Similar with shocks -- drag racing shocks have certain settings that are unacceptable at a road racing venue.

    I run Hal coilovers up front with competition engineering drag shocks out back, with 1LE springs all around. Result: nice adjustability, but under braking the rear unloads a fair amount. Stiffer ride too. But I've also done other things: sway bars, lots of bushings, control arms, etc.

    Rear suspension controls a lot for drag racing. If that's all you want, slap on a PHR and RLCAs, maybe a stiffer rear bar and call it a day. For the street, you can't go wrong with a lowering kit, though you'll need one helluva alignment. For track, coilovers are nice but expensive -- allstar weight jacks are decent enough for the rear. I chose a fair compromise, I think.
