• question bout posi and suspension troubles..

yea i searched before i posted this.

heres my question. i tossed a posi in my 1994 3.4L Camaro. JUST the posi. now, everytime i do a sharp left and give it moderate gas, the drivers tire squeals. the right tire never does, (on right hand turns) -- just the left.

i was thinking maybe i need to change something suspension-wise. any ideas??

    thanks.

Are you saying the driver's side(left) always spins regardless of the turning direction? If so, that may be a problem with the diff. A simple diff change should not require any suspension changes. But, if you are saying the inside wheel spins, I believe that's just the posi at work. If you know why there is a need for a diff, then ignore the rest of my post

The reason there needs to be some difference between wheel speeds, is that around a corner, the outside wheel needs to cover more ground. Therefore it must spin faster than the inside tire. When the open diff is in there, each wheel can rotate at what ever speeds needed. With the limited slip unit, the outside and inside need to rotate at about the same speed. So, around a turn, the inside wheel is forced to spin faster than it should and you get the spinning.
