Hi , just got some new front power slot rotors form AMM for my Camaro and new pads- semi metalic from Auto zone. Ever since I put them on I've been having a terrible clicking sound from the front. Have it all the time during driving, no vibration or stopping problems. Just that crazy clicking noise.Several times have checked the caliper bolts and have tightened them to the specs- no effect . I'm getting really p..d with that and I'm already thinking to throw the slotted rotors and to get some blanks. Just wonder if some of you guys have experienced the same problems with slotted rotors?
Would appreciate any feedback
make sure you tightened the calipers done all the way, i had a click after i took the calipers off and painted them, then i tightened them again and it fixed the click...
Is it just when you're braking? Slotted rotors are known to make a 'chopping' sound when you brake.

crazy idea but you don't have something like a small wire stuck in your wheel well tapping against a rotating object like the wheel or brake assembly or something do ya?
Just noticed that the wholes on the powerslot disks for the wheel studs are a bit too big and the rotor is pretty loose when it is placed over the hub. So probably even that is pressed by the wheel when you tighten the lug nuts, there is a chance that it might move back and forth under load? Can not think of anythink else.
Ordered some nickel plated blanks from Disk brakes-R-us, will have them next week. Will let you know if I have the same problem after the swap.
Thanks for your replies!
Well , here is the update. Just put the blanks instead of the powerslots and new hawk pads - still have the same clicking sound. It even feels like a pulsation on the accelerator pedal. Really do not know what to think of it.
Sometimes you have to bend the taps on the outer brake pads to lock them into place. When the pads first grip the rotor, the pads move toward the front of the car. The movement is not a lot but enough to produce a sound. When you start moving again, the pads move toward the rear of the vehicle starting the cycle over again. A lot of people don't do this, hell I didn't either until I learned about it in brake class. It doesn't hurt anything but you just hear that annoying sound. I had the same problem with my Fbody until I bent the taps down over the caliper.
Finally took the car to the shop. There decision is that it's the front hub bearings. Will see if the noise is still there after this.
Though I'm still amased that the bearings can go only 50k miles. What do you think guys?
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
