• Location of 4th gen steering gear box?

Got the 3.4 yesterday w/all accessories. wondering if the steering gear box on 4th gen cars is roughly same location as 3rd gen cars, on drivers side frame rail. I may/maynot be able to use the 3.4 power steering pump (psp). Depends on how the high pressure line goes. It is mounted higher on the 3.4 engine than the 2.8. Actually, the 3.4 psp is mounted where the 2.8 a/c compressor used to be, alts are in the same place , and the 3.4 a/c compressor is mounted where some 2.8/3.1 have smog pumps. (mine didn't have one so i'm guesing there).

The steering shaft linkage thingy goes in to the rack about 6" from the driver side wheel well/unibody frame. I think this is what you are talking about.
