  • Popping from the front end

When I turn a corner, about 1/4-1/2 a turn of the steering wheel, there is a definate popping coming from the front end. I havent had it looked at yet, but was wondering if you guys knew what it could be. Its actually not affecting drivability at all, just a popping noise. Whats up?

i have this noise sometimes too but i think mine went away, and mine was only from the front left and it was a really un-noticeable sound unless youre listening for it... *shrug*

It's not difficult at all, however you should have an alignment done after changing one. You can get it close just by counting the number of turns (threads) it took to remove the old one and put the new one on the same way.

But before you even consider replacing them you should check to make sure that's what the problem is. Bad tie rod will cause play in the steering which can be determined by jacking a wheel off the ground and seeing side-to-side play without the steering wheel moving. Check it or have it checked, but tie rod would be my first guess.
