Front sway bar removal?

how do i take off the front sway bar?..do i take off the end links too?..thanks [img]smile.gif[/img]

Unbolt the clamps around the bushings and at the endlinks...and thats it. Very easy to take off. End-links can come off as well.

cool..i did the LCAs and the pan hard rod...but i had the sway bars done while the car was in the garage for something else...i took a look under and it looked that simple...but i wanted to make sure i wasnt going to end up destroying something lol...one more question...should the front suspension be loaded or unloaded when i take it off?...or does it not matter?...thanks [img]smile.gif[/img]

Just a tip: When removing your front sway bar, always unbolt the endlinks first, then the bushings in the center. This eliminates the binding caused by the weight of the bar hanging on just the endlinks.

In short (for drag racing) it removes weight from the front of the car, and it allows the front suspension to travel as much as it wants when you launch. This promotes more weight transfer = better launch.

i pulled mine off last night on the way to the track. I would assume that it's just the same. In that case there is a braket that attaches to teh drivers side U mount that needs to come off. 2 10MM screws behind the splash guard and then it's out. Yes do start with the end links. Also be ready for the bolts to snap when you remove them. Might be a good idea to get a set of polys before you remove it incase they do break. Also that way if you plan on removing them repeadidly you will not distort the poly bushings like you will the rubber ones
