    yeah mines a 35mm one and its powder coated so not only will it give me a better launch but its heave as hell...sorry DarkEcho ...i'll only be removing for drag racing...the 35mm up front kicks @ss on the streets [img]smile.gif[/img] ..HBHRacing..thanks for the info!

Your car will have a lot of body roll, and it will oversteer like crazy if you try to drive in a spirted manner, but as long as you drive sensibly, you will not have any problems when daily driving.

        Disagree. Yeah, as long as nothing goes wrong, the car will drive. Not well, but it will drive. But as soon as you get into a situation (not necessarily your fault) and need to swerve to avoid some clown, you're toast. Especially in the rain.

        You're giving away a large amount of your cornering power. On the street, that's just dumb.

        And for what? On a high powered car that's twisting sideways from torque and about ready to pull the front wheels I can see it doing some good (but not much) on the track. On a relatively low power car, I have doubts about how much good it will do at the track. The bar doesn't hinder the front end from rising very much, since, if both wheels rise equally, it has no effect at all.

        "Removing the front sway bar may not improve traction, and may even degrade it by allowing the car to twist to one side on acceleration. The sway bar is not fastened tightly to the chassis, and thus does not impede front end lift. It merely ties the left and right suspension together so when one wheel either lifts or drops quickly the bar transfers some of the developed energy to the opposite side thus minimizing rolling or wallowing of the vehicle."

          It helps for drag racing, period. No car on stock suspension will lift the front end evenly. Torque is being applied in a twisting motion. Your car is always going to twist down on the passenger rear and try to lift the drivers front tire. Both of my cars lift more evenly with out the sway bar. It really doesn't degrade handling all that much. Hell, I don't even miss it after not having it for two years.

            I drove an hour to and from the track wednesday with no front sway bar. The difference is noticeable but not extream. I would not recomend it on the street but it's doable. I do not see mine going back on any time soon.

              Remove sway bar from daily driven car = bad
              Remove sway bar from drag car = good
              Remove sway bar from drag car that is driven daily = risky

                ive had mine off multiple times...

                i will agree with the people that say its fine to drive without it on the street provided you dont do any "spirited driving" (i like that phrase [img]smile.gif[/img] )


                however i do like to drive with lots of spirit on occasion, so i put mine back on [img]smile.gif[/img]
