• sway bar vs. strut tower brace handling?

got another suspension question...right now i have 245mm wide tires, a heavy @ss powder coated 35mm front sway bar, and my strut tower brace removed...im removing the front sway bar for track weight reduction...how much of a difference will i notice in daily handling if i remove the front sway bar an put the strut tower brace back on (which is a lot lighter)? thanks

I don't think any amount of feedback from a member will tell you here. Since it's all nuts & bolts anyway, and since you're not exactly doin autocross on the streets, why not give it a shot?

It seems like the only way. You will see a decrease in performance for handling, but you want every second in that 1/4 mile, right?

If you run NO front sway bar, your handling will go to ----, whether or not you have a tower brace.

Massive oversteer. You will, no kidding at all here, have one dangerous V6. If you ever need to change direction fast, like to avoid something, you will be toast. Rain will make it much worse.

A much better choice than no front bar and the tower brace would be the stock front bar and no tower brace. That will be close to the same weight, and still maintain reasonable handling.

On the street, a front sway bar is not an option, it's a necessity. The tower brace is an option.

Sway bar = very important, dont take it off unless you are not going to turn.

STB = nice to have, doesnt do much

I know all cars/setups are different, but FWIW, I have ridden in Little G's car quite a lot with no front sway and his slicks/skinnies, and at no time did I feel unsafe. As long as you drive responsibly around town, you shouldn't have any problems.

Just take it off and drive around carefully for a few days to see how it feels on YOUR car.
