• Corvette front brakes???

Will they bolt up, or do you need some kind of bracket. I converted to rear disc a while back, and looking at my car, it looks like my rears are bigger than my puny fronts. Plus now that I have 17" wheels all the way around, I think it would be fun to put some 13" corvette brakes up front. I can feel ANNOYING brake fade on just spirited street driving, plus its almost getting time to do them anyways. Thanks in advance for responses. ;)

Hmm, ok I searched before and I found one reply on it. It didnt help too much. I didnt know if maybe since the wheels fit, that maybe the brakes would carry over. There goes my dream. :(

If its your dream buy one side and see if it fits or not or how you can mod it then buy the other side. The only thing that would seem to be different is how the caliper bolts up.

Look down the threads a few posts...
Topic: Specific big brake upgrade comparision questions?

Yes you can put 13" Corvette brakes on an Fbody. You already have the 17" wheels required, don't forget to upgrade your spare as well.

The rears look bigger because they are. 11.4" rear vs. 10.7" front. I upgraded to the 98+ 11.9" front brakes for just $180 shipped which included spindles, rotors, hubs, calipers, hoses and pads.

C5 brake conversions have been done before. Easier to do on 98+ cars than 93-97 cars.

One company out there offers brackets to fit c5 rotors onto ls1 spindels. I think you have to use fbody pads and calipers though. There's alot of brake upgrade info on v8 forums. I'm in a group purchase at frrax.com for a "bob bishop" bracket that allows any year fbody to bolt on c5 calipers, pads, and rotors fairly easy. There's a few sets left under group purchase two in the classified section if you looking for these rare brackets.

lgmotorsports sells the c5 rotor upgrade. You need 17" wheels to run them.

But ONLY for LS1 cars. ;) Not the LT1 cars.

LG doesn't have the adapters on their online catalog (at least not that I can find).

Anyone have a link or do you have to call for info? I'm just curious about price.

I see they have GStop 12.8" slotted rotors in the brake section, which I would think requires an adapter to use, but can't find the adapter?

An "lt1" car can run an LS1 spindle arm, then use any LS1 upgrade. I'm told LT1->LS1 brake conversions go on ebay for around $175 but I've never priced them.

Better pads is a good first step to reducing fade.

Chris (mtfba) isn't marketing those anymore, but Bob Bishop (through Trackbird) is selling another batch of them on fraxx.
