Since I got my car lowered, the gap between the outside of the tire and the side of the body is much more noticable, and personally I think it looks horrible. It looks like my rear wheels especially are tucked into the body, and looks bad. Anyone notice that the Formulas/Trans Ams don't seem to be as noticable? Is there something different about their rears or what? Would a spacer be the easiest way to fix this some? And last question, anyone have pics of their cars with stock rims and spacers?

Yeah, they run P275 wide tires... get some wider tires if you don't like the look.
I didn't lower mine though.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

Put some wider tires on. It's worst on Pontiacs since the qtr panels flare out more. Did you change the panhard rod to an adjustable one to recenter the rr axle? If not the rt side will look more in and the lt will come out more.1999 Pewter Camaro M5
Y87 Performance Package, Sport Appearance Package, Diamond Clears
Factory SS Hood, Free Ram Air Mod, Whisper Lid w/ K&N Air Filter
CarSound Cat 94009, B&B Tri-Flo w/ Quad Tips
BMR SFC, BMR STB, KVR Blank Rotors, Hawk HPS Pads
Black Painted Calipers w/ CAMARO Decal, 245/50 Dunlop SP Sport 5000
20% Rear 35% Side Tint, Red Reflective Inlays, Invincishield
Young girls avert their eyes, weak men tremble, Ford dealers faint.

The Pontiacs have wider fenders than the Camaro, and contribute to that "sunken-in" look. Stock 16x8 wheels are 55mm offset. Most 17x9.5 or 18x9.5 replica wheels (ZR1/Z06 style) have around the same offset (54-56) which means they will stick out 3/4" more than the stockers, reducing some of that overhang. Many aftermarket wheels offer even less offset, low to mid 40mm, and puts the outside of the wheel nearly flush with the lip of the fender.
I went with 38mm offset ZR1 replicas on my Firebird because I wanted them to be flush with the fenders. AFSWheels.com and AAARims.com both offer the 17x9.5 ZR1 replica in the 38mm offset. AFS claims this offset won't fit the Camaro (because of the narrower fenders) but are just fine on the Pontiacs. The 38mm offset is for the 84-87 Corvette.
Notice the rear still has a bit more overhang than the front. This can be fixed by using a 17x11 36 offset wheel out back.
Please no remarks on how dirty the car is or how high it sits. Both have since been rectified. yeah, but it seems that whenever i see a stock formula, with the stock 16x8 rims, there seems to be less overhang... maybe its just my imagination. i just thought there was something different about the V8s that i didnt know about1998 Red Firebird M5
not enough mods

I suppose if you're talking about a 215/60 vs. a 245/50 then yes, the V8's would have slightly less overhang.1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips
