Well, Ii know the shocks from a Z28 are better than the stock V6. They are valved a little stiffer. I have the V8 take-off shocks on my car, and I'm very happy with them. I'm not sure if the SS has the same shocks and springs as the Z28 though. If the SS has the same springs as the Z28, then the rear springs will be the same as your V6 springs, but the fronts will have a higher rate.

I guess it depends how many miles they have on them. Also, I'm not sure how much of a difference the springs would make. I have no experience with upgrading the springs. The shocks will make a differnce though.

Those Decarbons need to be replaced after 50,000 miles. They just don't last too long. I had mine till 90,000. Man what a difference those new shocks made. I used to feel every pot hole. Now, even though they are valved stiffer, it's much more comfortable.

It depends what year SS it was. According to the technical database here, 99+ SSs came stock with 1LE springs. Otherwise, unless it's an SLP SS, the springs are stock V8 springs, so the fronts are stiffer, but the rears are the same rate as yous.
I'll let everybody know how the front V8 springs work on a 98+ V6, I'm getting a set put on when I get my front Bilsteins put on April 20th.

If it's a 2000 SS, and if they do have the 1LE springs, they are supposed to actually raise the car by like .5". Ask Dom about the 1LE springs, he has them on his car.
