• air ride... ?

so i was lookin though this "air ride technologies" catalog and saw that they make this system for our cars (well, 93 - 02 camaro), its called the "air strut". it says its a bolt on replacement, absolutely no welding, cutting, or fabrication. says it will drop the car 2" at regular ride height, and up to 4" for "slammed parking lot profiling". i was thinking about getting just the air struts for now, (shocks are also included for the rear if im reading correctly) and then getting the tank, compressor, switches, etc., etc., later. the kits like $1400 or so, but i wanted to know what you guys thought. do you think its a good buy, or just a waste of probably an estimated $3000 in the end? anyone have experience with air ride at all? any feedback is appreciated.

might be cool...
but dont you have to have a compressor? where would that go? and if thats needed, then you'll need guages to monitor psi... where wouldnt they go? Plus switches to raise/ lower. I dont know... its be cool as hell, but I'm still undecided on what I should tell you to do

keep in mind our cars weigh about 3300lbs.. thats alot of work for anything to have to endure. Keep us informed.. instead of eibachs I might get a set of these... 1400 is alot though

i guess the a 5 gallon tank fits perfectly in our trunk... yes i measured. and if you can do without a spare tire, waanaanaa, space for the compressor. keep in mind too, these kits also lift freakin dualies! one pic they even entegrated on a UPS truck. so i dont think weight is a problem. i dunno, im still weighing the ooptions. with full tank and compressor kit that i want, added to the air struts, rise time is under a second! i guess im getting all worked up over the features. but come on, if you saw the features, you'd probably do the same. if you want a free catalog, go to www.ridetech.com and look at them.

he said the kit is made for our cars, so weight should be no problem at all, especially if they made it with the v8 in mind

1)I thought our cars had shocks
2)I thought these things were like coilover springs, so there's be no need to replace the shocks
3)air compressor in the trunk would be NO room, not even for t-tops. Would there by any other alternative... like only have to fill air reservior with the air compressor after a few days.

I guess those are more or les questions for the people that make the kits, but thats still something for you to think about.
I never saw on their online catalog where is said they make a kit for newer camaro's or firebirds. But you have the real one, so I dont doubt you
