  • goodyear triple tread?

    Hey guys...

Got the mail today and I got a coupon for those new goodyear triple tread all weather tires starting at $74.99ea.

I know Imna be needing new tires soon (like real soon) and budget is fairly tight. I also know any good deals I find I can take to Pepboys and get a price match.

So number one...Has anyone else had experience with these? If not...any other recommends for middle of the line/decent performance tires?

I got the HRi and I love them so far. I've only had them for maybe a month at best. They handle in the rain soooo well, they put my old Cooper Cobra's to shame in just about every category.

I bought the Triple Tread all season tires for my wifes 2003 Malibu. Although it is rated as a "performance all-season tire" ,I did not look at performance that much. Since I live in West Virginia, I wanted a very good all season tire that was good in snow and wet weather for my wifes safety.
According to Tire Rack and some dealers around here, the Triple tread was rated "very good" for snow and wet weather plus it had a 70,000 mile warranty.
The tires have only about 400 miles on them and guess what......it has not snowed that much this year. Oh well, I like them so far. Good in wet weather.

I have bfg traction t/a on right now. Good grip on dry, very predictable in the wet, and a decent price. I like pretty much the whole bfg line up and I haven't heard anyone say a bad thing about Fuzion tires.

Check out tire rack's rating for tires even if you don't buy from them. That should help you make the decision

                x2 on the bfg's.
I have the H rated version- everything Hokiebird says is right on the money. There may be quieter tires out there, and the asymmetric tread patern limits rotation options, but the difference in wet traction is great and the tread pattern looks neat.

                Aren't the Triple Treads S-rated?

Yea I was looking at tires on tirerack last night and the bfg t/a's were one of them that i bookmarked in my list.

The firestone firehawk indy 500's were the other one that seemed to stand out.

                  keep em coming guys!
                  thanks

I worked for goodyear for a while selling tires. The triple tread is a great tire. Snow, rain, decent handling. I put it on my 3.8 camaro before i sold it to my brother. Since he drives it in winter and its v6 so the tires get grip pretty well.

Negatives 225/60/16 is about as wise as you can go.

If thats fine wit you, then its a great tire for ya.
