• bought springs? what else do i need ??

I just bought :gasp: Eibach Sportlines.

I know i will need new shocks *eventually* but how long do you think the stock ones (which are in good condition) will last?

When it does come time to replacing the shocks i was planning on going with Bilsten's... Are they good? (i don't want to kill myself on the price though)

Also, can i install the springs myself? Is it hard or how much do you think the AVERAGE shop would charge??

    Thanks in advance...

    Julian

how many miles are on your car? since you're a 96 and still using stock shocks i'd suggest getting new shocks before you install the springs. the sportlines will wear out your shocks quicker than you think. if you don't want to buy bilstens yet, i'd say get slp take-offs. once you get new shocks go ahead and install the springs. drive your car around for awhile and see what your rearend does. mine took about 2 months before it finally shifted and when you take right turns at a decent amount of speed, it feels like your car fishtails, but the tires are still planted to the ground. get the adj. after the rear shifts and if your car feels slower when you drag race, get relocation brackets.

Stock shocks -- even if they are brand new -- suck royally

If you are doing this as an appearance upgrade, don't even bother with new shocks, your going to get the same results regardless. The ride will be a little uncomfortable, and you will likely be a little bouncy as well.

If you are doing this as a handling upgrade, then you need bilsteins or some other aftermarket shock. Period. If you want to argue the point, don't even bother with me, just go to ls1.com and argue with Sam Strano or Lou G.
