since winter is just around the corner, lets talk about winter tires. Last year i made the mistake of keeping my 18's on through the snow. It was like playing russian roulette with a toy gun/ whatever that means.

Anyway, im not looking for the most expensive tires, just ones that'll save the bird through another winter hell. good traction is a must, 235/55/16's for the stock rims.

I've got BFG KDWS, they got me home last year in 5-7 inches of snow with zero problems. (Proof on my webpage)

        I don't doubt that, but...

Those are "all-season" tires that have a snow rating of 6.2 on www.tirerack.com. What I was recommending are pure snow tires that have a snow rating from 8.6-9.4.

If you're going to compromise with one set of tires all-seasons are good. The original poster was going to have two sets of tires and I think you might as well go all the way with the snows if you're doing that.

        Here's some info about that:

        http://www.discounttire.com/dtc/broc...rAllSeason.jsp

BTW, I'd go with 215/60s instead of the 235/55s.

i said winter, but i didnt neccessarily mean i want snow tires. I am gonna drive in snow, but not the entire winter, i need something that will handle the road well. I was leaning towards eagle gt-hr's but i read some reviews and it seems everyone disagreed about everything.

any more suggestions, like some all season with some snow track?

I know Continental makes some tires which are good snow/wet but aren't all snow. When I get home today I'll do some quick research and find some options for you.

Are you running these on the stock 16" wheels?

um, if it snows, 1988 Ford f-150 works for me. Only time I use it is in winter. Cost me the same as a good set of wheels & tires.

I second this...It snowed A LOT last year, and they are awesome! Not to mention they have great dry/wet grip also. I bought them so I could use them for winter tires and track tires.

They seemed to satisfy all of my requirements, as well as the price tag of only $112ish easily made them my top pick.

After over a year of use...I have to say that they are one of the best tires I've used.

Blizzak. 215/60. I put them on my car every year, with plain steel wheels.

My Camaro is like a tank with these tires on. It goes through anything, even last winter's record snowfall.

                        Never got stuck.
