depends on what size youre looking for. most will be heavier unless you go with 15 inch rims for drag racing. big rims with low profile tires will be heavier for the most part, but you will have better handling due to less sidewall flex and a wider tire. there have been posts in the suspension section with the weights of various rims listed. ill move this to the suspension section. try a search over there.

by the way, SSR's are pretty cheap, but theyre expensive too. try tirerack for prices.

I have Weld Draglites i run on mine at the track and a little bit of street driving. If you do daily drive on them, you need to be careful with the fronts because you cant go very quick around turns and watch for big potholes because they'll bend fairly easy compared to stockers, but if you're careful you wont have any problems. The rears are 15x8" with 5.5" backspacing and the fronts are 15x3.5 with 1.75" backspacing. The calipers take a lot of grinding. As far as weights go, with 275/50/15 BFG DR's on the rear, they weighed the same as my stock wheels and tires at 42 lbs a piece. But the fronts with a 165r radial weighed 18lbs. There's pictures in my sig. BTW i bought them from Jegs.

Most aftermarket 17 and 18 inch wheels are going to be a few pounds heavier than the stock 16's. Lightweight racing wheels like Fikse and HRE are expensive, and usually right around the same weight as the stockers. You're not going to really notice those few extra pounds on the street.

get a cheap set of wide 15" tires for the rear and some 15" or 14" skinnies for the front for when you go to the track. Its a lot of money in tires but the rims are much cheaper.
