I actually thought it was my drivetrain, but ruled that out... It sort of went away for now, but I need to check the fluid.
Think it would be bad to changeth fluid? It is original from factory... but I have heard sometimes on auto trannies sometimes its better to leave the old fluid in once it gets to a certiain point then to change it.
Mine started doing the same thing a week or so ago....REALLY loud when I first start it in the morning, and my power streering is bad until it warms up for a while and the noise goes away. I already took out some of the original fluid that was in there, it smelt kind of burnt. I added in a pint of Lucas rack and Pinion stuff to try and appease the problem. It didn't help much. I have yet to decide if it's my pump or a bad rack and pinion. Sucks if it's R&P because they are normally like $250! If I figure it out, I'll let ya know.

I used a turkey baster to remove my old fluid (don't laugh it worked like a charm) and put some lucas rack and pinion reconditioning fluid in the power steering resevoir. Wow what a difference my experience was completely different from the guy who posted a couple back. It smoothed out my power steering a lot. Try it before you replace the pump. Just make sure to remove ALL of the old fluid as it can lessen the effectiveness of the reconditioning fluid.
